DAV MISSION STATEMENT
We are dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. We accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
DAV Transportation Program
For Wyoming and Northern Colorado
The DAV Transportation program was established to provide transportation to Veterans in need of medical care from designated point of departure to the Cheyenne VA Medical Center and return.
The program’s drivers are all volunteers. Vans are not wheelchair accessible and do not run on Federal holidays or weekends. Vans only run if they have scheduled pickups.
The program has vans in Cheyenne, Casper, Laramie, Rawlins, WY; Sidney and Scottsbluff in Western Nebraska; Fort Collins, Greeley, Fort Morgan, in Northern Colorado. Each city has its scheduled days to the VA Medical Center.
Northeast Wyoming has the Sheridan VA Medical Center supporting Veterans in Gillette, Riverton, Casper, Powell, Afton, Lander, and Cody, WY.
Rock Springs and Evanston Veterans visit the Salt Lake City, Utah VA Medical Center.
