An exceptional collection of hunting and fishing experts and many Veteran and active duty volunteers who create a culture and environment of support for every client, on an individual basis.
For every event we have a few small goals.
#1 – Get each veteran in connection with other veterans. Before they even meet they already have a bond that the rest of us don’t understand, just put them in a room, a truck or a hunting blind with each other and get out of the way.
#2 – Take a genuine interest in their lives. We ask each of our volunteers to be exceptional listeners and to pay attention to detail. We want to be available when someone calls or wants to open up about their life. We aren’t therapists, we’re a resource. We’re here to listen to them and to care about them. We use our events to form that bond and develop trust.
#3 – Make it fun. Veterans and special needs individuals alike need a release from everyday life. The change of pace and the excitement of the event fuels them and the act of adventure alone can be enough to have a real positive impact.
#4 – Follow up. We always look forward to staying in touch with those we work with. Most of our participants make new friends while they’re on a Hero Expeditions outing and it’s very common for them to stay in touch with each other as well.
Our team provides listening services for all Veterans and family members. In addition, we provide a Resource Hub of all viable Veteran and family services available in northern Colorado. Northern Colorado runs from Broomfield north to Wyoming and east to Prospect Valley.
Please let us know if you would like to get together with one of our Qualified Listeners, perhaps over coffee. We only meet in public places to ensure you and our Listeners are kept safe.
To initiate a meeting just leave us a phone message, or email or fill out the form on our web site.
Providing Solutions – Not just Services!
We participate in and plan events with the goal of helping military Veterans, Veteran causes and organizations who support Veterans. We provide motorcycle escorts and flag details for Veteran funerals, parades and other Veteran events. We plan and carry out fund raisers, liaison with community leaders and other Veteran support groups in order to assist them in helping our northern Colorado Veterans.
We are a 501-C3 organization of combat Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who ride motorcycles as a hobby. We have chapters and members in all 50 states and living overseas. Many members continue to serve in our Armed Forces with several in combat areas.
Front Range Chapter 3-6 is based in northern Colorado and has members throughout the area such as Fort Collins, Windsor, Loveland, Greeley and Johnstown.
DAV MISSION STATEMENT
We are dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. We accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
